Create a Guinness World Record! "Asian Culture Carnival" super large 3D point matrix suspension stage beauty bombing!
2019-05-31
On May 15th, 2019, the Asian Cultural Carnival shines in the nest! The behind-the-scenes production of the carnival is a big deal, whether it is occupying the stage area of the Bird's Nest 3/4 or the super large 3D point matrix suspension stage is unprecedented. Among them, such a large point matrix stereoscopic video presentation method was first used in the world and created a Guinness World Record.
The general directors Yang Dongsheng, Xing Shimiao, the chief producer Sha Xiaolan, the general designer of the art, Shang Tianbao, and the chief designer of the audio industry, He Wei, and so on, have lived up to the expectations of the people, presenting a cultural carnival for the people of the world. .
Asian Culture Carnival · 90 seconds wonderful review
This grand event, the 15000m2 stage occupies 3/4 of the bird's nest, creating the largest stage area ever built by the Bird's Nest. A total of 3,500 lamps, 9200m2 screen; 330 audio equipment; 19,000m3 space covered with 390,000 matrix lights; 380,000m pressure wire hoisting 52t; a total of 7000m power and signal lines. It took half a year to plan and was completed in 2 months.
Below, let us look at the highlights of this culture from both visual and auditory perspectives.
Visual feast
The total design of the carnival's fine art is the designer Shang Tianbao who has undertaken many high-level performances in China. The beauty of the dance design is a major proposition that highlights the "Asian destiny community and the creation of a new future in Asia". The super-beauty that Shang Tianbao has always imagined can be realized. The dot matrix 3D suspension imaging stage, which was first presented, pushed the art of dance to the extreme.
The Carnival super large dot matrix stereo video system was independently designed and produced by X International Culture Media Co., Ltd. This presentation was used for the first time in the world and created a Guinness World Record.
This stunning LED dot matrix stereo video imaging system is suspended above the stage, spanning 64.5 meters, with a depth of 19.5 meters, a net height of 15.2 meters, and a mobile expansion range of 120 meters. Each group of 100 beaded electronic strings is up to scale. 395,200 pixels.

Implementation construction
Live visual presentation
The main stage and the upper point matrix form a dialogue between heaven and earth, showing the simple concept of the interrelationship and awe of the universe and human life. The overall stage spans 160 meters and is 90 meters deep, almost filling the nest.
In terms of lighting design, Wu Guoqiang's concept of lighting design is fully combined with the design concept of “Importing postcards to welcome all the world to the world”, and the overall structure of the dance is used to show the effect of flying wings, which is intended to take off the Chinese dream.
In conjunction with the giant dot matrix, 12 light matrixes are mounted on the rear ceiling of the stage, and the depth of the three-dimensional space of the stage is also the background of the giant dot matrix, enhancing its overall depth. 18 Veya lights, buried in the giant dot matrix, act together with them, mainly depicting the shape of the dancers.
The whole site uses LED 300WBSW, 380 BEAM, BSW350, 330 BEAM; a total of 3,500 lamps.
In terms of video production, 16 companies, including 18 teams, participated. The assembly consists of a 88m ✘ 18m LED main screen, a 47m diameter round ground circular stage, a 69.5m ✘ 16.5m stage front screen, and a total of 18 groups of crescent-shaped side screens on each of the left and right sides. The total screen size is 9,200 square meters, which is the largest amount of screen usage in previous parties.
Whether a good idea can be realized ultimately depends on whether the implementation team can understand the director's intention and turn it into reality. Under the leadership of the general production Sha Xiaotong, the overall dance beauty of the party actively cooperated with the creative ideas of the general directors Yang Dongsheng and Xing Shimiao to create the ultimate oriental visual feast!
Sound design
The “Asian Culture Carnival” was carried out in the Bird's Nest in Beijing, which is a huge challenge for the sound system – the number of speakers, the complexity of the console system far exceeds the average concert.
The audio transmission control system is the throat of the entire sound system, and the biggest challenge of the Bird's Nest is that it is larger than other venues. In addition to this, it is necessary to guarantee the stability of live performances and broadcasts. The problems that the audio design team needs to solve are: long distance of signal transmission; stable equipment; and simplify the system as much as possible under the premise of huge system requirements.
The audio design team finally confirmed the use of the DiGiCo console system, and built the entire console system through the mirror hot backup function of the DiGiCo console and the DiGiCo console ring network architecture.
The main mixer uses the DiGiCo SD5 mixer, and the backup mixer uses the DiGiCo SD10 mixer to connect to the interface box via the fiber optic ring.
In terms of the speaker amplifier system, the number of live audiences is very large, which brings great challenges for live sound reinforcement, stage monitoring and TV broadcast. The speaker amplifier system is also a huge project in a venue with such a large volume.
In terms of FOH sound reinforcement, the sound team made a decision based on the live listening situation after the simulation:
First, the sound pressure level and speaker coverage design FOH sound pressure level is not less than 108dB (A) / 118dB (C) SPL. The unevenness of the whole field is not more than 10dB.
Second, the speaker part, using the distributed sound reinforcement method, reducing the speaker projection distance, accurately covering the audience seat, reducing the reflection sound. The main expansion speaker on site uses L-Acoustics.
Third, the main speaker ground using the stacking method, a total of 8 sets of speakers, so that the front area of the audience as close as possible, get more direct sound, and the sound coverage is even. For speaker selection, the K12 dual 12-inch three-way linear array speaker is used, plus two S28 double 18-inch linear components.
For the second and third spectators, the linear array speakers are suspended on the top of the nest to enhance the sound.
Conclusion
In this best era, the people behind the scenes prepared for half a year, only for the blossoms of Asian civilization. This civilized event, which is elegant and fashionable, and intertwined with the old and the future, is not only a milestone in Asian culture, but also a strong legacy in the history of human civilization exchanges. A tribute to the people behind the scenes, thank you to all the front and back workers who contributed to this performance!
